The involvement of health professionals with the principles of pharmacovigilance has a major impact on the quality of care provided to surgical patients, helps to have safer medications on the market, detecting adverse reactions not yet described, misuse of medications, new drug interactions, systemic failures related to drug therapy, and psychotropic deviations.
