Diagnostic Methods in Magnetic Resonance Imaging - Scholarship programs for Lato-Sensu Specialization courses

The “Lato - Sensu” Specialization Scholarship Program is a Scholarship Program of the State of São Paulo, established on September 11, 1979, by State Decree No. 13,919 for higher education professionals to work in the health area.

This Program was designed as an instrument of the Government of the State of São Paulo, through the State Department of Health, to stimulate the postgraduate training of human resources responsible for providing direct attention to the health needs of the population of São Paulo, and is responsible for the administration and control of scholarships. There are about four hundred different professional improvement programs in the State of São Paulo.

The “Lato - Sensu” Specialization Scholarship Program is intended to complement the training of recent graduates in the health area, except doctors, through in-service training and the objectives are:

• To empower the participant to perform qualified and differentiated activities in the area covered by the Scholarship Programs for “Lato - Sensu” Specialization Courses, promoting the improvement of professional performance, through the opportunity to access new theoretical knowledge and emphasis on specific practices;
• Encourage and enhance the development of a critical and comprehensive vision of the Unified Health System (SUS), guiding its action to improve the health conditions of the SUS user population;
• Improve the participants' training process, considering the guidelines and principles of the SUS in order to develop a broad and integrated understanding of the different actions and work processes of the institution participating in the program.

They last 1 (one) or 2 (two) years, working hours of 40 hours a week, with a minimum total workload of 1,760 hours, distributed between theoretical and practical activities aimed at each profession/area of concentration for which they are intended and must be studied on an exclusive basis.
