The Nutrology course trains doctors to assess the impact of nutrients on the body. The professional learns to identify and treat malnutrition and obesity, offer individualized nutritional support, adjust oral, enteral, and parenteral therapeutic modalities, and manage intercurrences related to different nutritional therapies.

Nutrology is a specialty not yet included in the undergraduate curriculum in Medicine. Therefore, there is a shortage of specialized professionals or those with knowledge in the area. From ordinance 272/98, by Anvisa, with the creation of EMTN (Multiprofessional Nutritional Therapy Team), the doctor is part of the care team in nutritional support and evaluation.

In the Nutrology course, you learn over the course of a month at the Central Institute of the Hospital das Clínicas da USP. It is a program of more than 200 hours, with classes with great specialists and differentiated practical experience, in the largest hospital complex in Latin America.
