The growing complexity of mental disorders and the rising prevalence of psychiatric conditions in the population require new approaches to patient treatment and management. In Brazil, approximately 10% of the population has some type of mental disorder, with depression and anxiety being the most common. Conventional therapies, such as pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy, while effective for many, do not benefit all patients. Ketamine, in turn, stands out as a promising option in the treatment of resistant depression, with rapid effects in reducing symptoms.
