Attending to adolescents requires preparation to understand a phase marked by intense physical, emotional, and social transformations. Issues related to growth, puberty, sexuality, mental health, behavior, and family relationships make the consultation challenging and demand updated knowledge, qualified listening, and decision-making security from the doctor.
This combo brings together two complementary courses and offers a training journey that starts from the foundations of pediatric care and advances to complex and contemporary clinical situations. Initially, the student will develop essential knowledge to conduct the adolescent consultation, considering ethical and legal aspects, communication, confidentiality, growth, puberty, reproductive health, vaccination, and the most frequent complaints of this age group.
In the advanced stage, challenges present in current clinical practice will be addressed, such as suicide and self-harm, eating disorders, bullying, sexual violence, digital health, gaming disorder, obesity, male genital concerns, and the use of electronic cigarettes.
Acquire a broad and integrated view of adolescent health, preparing the doctor to recognize risk factors, address sensitive topics, and handle situations of different levels of complexity with greater confidence, acceptance, and security.
