The Hemodynamic Assessment of Pulmonary Circulation course addresses theoretical and practical issues of hemodynamic assessment. There are 4 teaching blocks: technique, special situations, non-invasive assessment and discussion of clinical cases, with the main focus being the technique of right-sided cardiac catheterization. Classes cover everything from the conditions required for an adequate examination to possible complications. Pulmonary circulation is the anatomical link between the heart and the lungs, and its understanding is fundamental for related medical specialties. Pathological involvement of the pulmonary circulation is common, implying extreme importance in its hemodynamic study, which needs to be carried out in a detailed and careful manner to understand and treat the numerous associated diseases. Through autonomy in time and place of study, students will have access to excellent content, developed with the support of InCor at the Hospital das Clínicas of FMUSP.
