There are 22 participants, divided into 11 pairs occupying 11 workstations (1 pair per station); each workstation will have 1 table microscope, a magnifying glass and microinstruments for dissection. Each pair will have 1 fixed brain in the 1st stage of the course and 3 brainstems with cerebellums in the 2nd stage of the course. The first stage of the course will consist of dissection of the superficial and deep structures of a brain fixed in the usual way, starting on the lateral surface, followed by dissection of the same structures on the basal surface and finally dissection on the medial surface, so that the same structures are seen from 3 different perspectives. The second stage of the course will consist of dissection of the brainstem and cerebellum through the petrous, tentorial and suboccipital surfaces, including the fourth ventricle.
Each stage of the dissection will be preceded by a brief theoretical lecture (3D or 2D) and demonstrative dissection by the instructor. During the dissection, participants will have individualized guidance at the stations (there will be 9 instructors in the course).
Throughout the course, clinical cases and respective surgical videos will be demonstrated, which will exemplify the practical application of the anatomy being studied.
