Ultrasound in the Musculoskeletal System
The course aims to disseminate knowledge about the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound, with a focus on improving the quality of care and increasing patient safety.
The training meets a market demand, driven by advances in technology and the inclusion of ultrasound in current and important concepts of precision medicine. The tool also has several applications in orthopedic medicine.
Medicine is increasingly becoming less invasive, and image-guided procedures are becoming increasingly important in preventing iatrogenic complications. Joint injections, procedures such as radiofrequency, barbotage, and diagnostic and therapeutic joint punctures are examples of procedures that can be guided by ultrasound.
The need to ensure adequate training for doctors culminated in the creation of this course by Dr. Felipe Carneiro, from the Department of Radiology and Oncology at HCFMUSP.
