The training prepares the student to work in the operating room, collaborating with the surgical team and being responsible for the supply of instruments. It is a work routine that demands professional conduct, a foundation in Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, and specific activities of the surgical procedure.
The course consists of more than 450 hours of instruction, led by leading experts in surgical instrumentation. Throughout the program, students learn hands-on experience within the Hospital das Clínicas of USP, the largest hospital complex in Latin America.
