Neuropsychology is an essentially interdisciplinary field, built through the cooperation between psychologists, neurologists, psychiatrists, and various other health specialists. In this scenario, the neuropsychologist plays a key role: combining their generalist training with specialization, they go beyond the choice and interpretation of psychodiagnostic tests. This is a professional capable of understanding the neural bases of emotion and behavior, examining relational dynamics and latent emotional aspects, and conducting cognitive rehabilitation processes with a focus on patient adherence and mediation of healthcare teams. This strategic action expands professional horizons beyond private offices, reaching hospitals, educational institutions, the forensic context, and academia.
Offered by the Psychology and Neuropsychology Service of the Institute of Psychiatry of FMUSP, this course provides a practical immersion through the supervised study of real clinical cases from the various outpatient clinics of the IPq. Throughout the training, the student develops the ability to analyze high-complexity situations, master the use of specialized instruments, prepare in-depth technical reports and opinions, and conduct humanized feedback orientations to patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. This practical experience is supported by a solid didactic structure composed of expository and dialogic classes, seminars, and technical-scientific meetings. Aligned with the mission of the Hospital das Clínicas, the course delivers cutting-edge academic and professional training, guided by excellence and commitment to health.
