The Specialization in Oncology Nutrition - Live aims to qualify nutritionists to care for patients who may present a weakened nutritional state due to the disease itself and the treatment. However, the continuity of studies in the field of postgraduate education for nutritionists is a necessity, given the possibility of specific nutritional monitoring for dietetic adaptations, early initiation of nutritional therapy, symptom control, in addition to avoiding interruptions in treatment and worsening of the patient's nutritional state, which contributes to a better quality of life.

The course coordination may recognize prior experience in Clinical Nutrition for exemption from the practical module (internship), upon analysis of the supporting documentation issued and signed by the institution where the experience was acquired.

Students who have this experience recognized and wish to experience the practice at Icesp may, nonetheless, complete the internship with a reduced workload, as defined by the coordination.
