About Course
Specialization in General Psychiatry
The Specialization in General Psychiatry prepares the student to deal with any high complexity situation in the psychiatric clinic. It is an innovative course, with a highly qualified faculty, differentiated practical experience and a diploma from the Hospital das Clínicas da USP, the largest in Latin America.
There are more than 450 hours of theory and practice, taught by USP professors who are references in their fields of activity. The content covers from the most basic concepts to general psychiatry. It includes classes on major topics, such as: Personality Disorder, Eating Disorders, Childhood and Adolescence Disorders, Psychotic and Depressive Disorders, Drug and Anxiety Dependence Disorders, Epilepsies and Dementia.
Upon completing the postgraduate course in General Psychiatry, the professional will be able to perform all psychiatric reasoning, know the diagnoses and management, from common cases to the most complex ones.
