Theoretical academic activities take place through classes, readings, study groups, seminars, and interdisciplinary technical-scientific meetings. The supervised internship consists of group and individual care for psychiatric patients (adults, adolescents, and children) in outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and day hospitals, with an emphasis on multidisciplinary team experience.
Students develop differential psychological assessment work, training in psychopathology and planning interventions in individual, family, or therapeutic group modalities. Assessments in supervised clinical psychopathological diagnosis involve collecting clinical history (from medical records and interviews), applying specific instruments, analyzing data, preparing reports, and case discussion meetings.
To complete the course, the student prepares a monograph based on scientific methodology. All activities are supervised, aiming to gradually provide theoretical-clinical subsidies to the student and train them for various intervention modalities.
