Scholarship programs for Lato-Sensu Specialization courses - Neuropsychology in the Hospital Context

The Scholarship Program for "Lato - Sensu" Specialization Courses is a Scholarship Program of the Government of the State of São Paulo, established on September 11, 1979, by State Decree No. 13,919 for higher education professionals to work in the Health area.

This Program was conceived as an instrument of the Government of the State of São Paulo, through the State Department of Health, to encourage postgraduate training of human resources responsible for directly meeting the health needs of the population of São Paulo, and is responsible for the administration and control of scholarships. There are approximately four hundred different professional development programs in the State of São Paulo.

The Scholarship Program for "Lato - Sensu" Specialization Courses is intended to complement the training of recent graduates in the health area, except doctors, through in-service training and the objectives are:

• To enable the participant to perform in a qualified and differentiated manner in the area covered by the Scholarship Programs for "Lato - Sensu" Specialization Courses, promoting the improvement of professional performance, through the opportunity to access new theoretical knowledge and an emphasis on specific practices;
• Encourage and improve the development of a critical and comprehensive vision of the Unified Health System (SUS), guiding its actions towards improving the health conditions of the population using the SUS;
• Improve the training process of participants, considering the guidelines and principles of the SUS in order to develop a broad and integrated understanding of the different actions and work processes of the institution participating in the program.

They last 1 (one) or 2 (two) years, with a 40-hour workweek, with a minimum total workload of 1,760 hours, distributed between theoretical and practical activities aimed at each profession/area of concentration for which it is intended, and must be taken exclusively.
