The Professional Training Program for Foreign Doctors (PCPME) is aimed at medical professionals who graduated abroad without a diploma revalidated in Brazil, with or without experience in their field of activity, who are interested in completing a Specialization teaching program at the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo, equivalent to the Brazilian Medical Residency Program, and at the end of the program return to their countries of origin to apply the knowledge acquired, improving the local health system.
Divided into two modalities, Direct Access and Specialized Access, the program aims at specialization and professional improvement according to the medical specialty chosen by the student, in addition to contact with specialists and professionals with high-quality techniques and standards from the HCFMUSP System.
Following Resolution No. 2,216/2018 of the Federal Council of Medicine (CFM), the postgraduate teaching program must have the same duration and content as that provided for programs authorized by the National Medical Residency Commission (CNRM) for each specialty.
Furthermore, the program requires exclusive, full-time dedication restricted to the HCFMUSP System and in locations previously designated by the program, with activities always carried out under the supervision of the Institution's Clinical Staff.
It is important to highlight that one of the MANDATORY documents for registration in the PCPME selection process is the Celpe-Bras certification of proficiency in the Portuguese language, upper intermediate level.
New: Candidates may register for up to two course options per application.
