PCICPS - International Cooperation Program for Training Health Professionals

The PCICPS is a Medical Specialization teaching program, held at the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (HCFMUSP), with structure, duration, and content equivalent to the Brazilian Medical Residency Programs.

The program is aimed exclusively at doctors trained abroad, appointed by government entities, clinics or scholarship institutions, and is based on the return of the professional to the country of origin after completion, strengthening local health care.

The PCICPS is divided into two modalities, Direct Access and Specialized Access. Both aim at specialization and professional improvement, according to the chosen specialty, providing direct contact with reference specialists, updated techniques, and excellent standards of the HCFMUSP System.

The program strictly follows the Resolution of the Federal Council of Medicine - CFM No. 2,216/2018, which determines that graduate courses have the same duration and content as the programs authorized by the National Medical Residency Commission (CNRM) for each specialty.

In addition, the program requires exclusive, full-time and restricted dedication to the HCFMUSP System and at locations previously designated by the program, with activities always carried out under the supervision of the Institution's Clinical Staff.
