According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 20 million people need palliative care every year, but only 14% receive adequate treatment. Therefore, the course is of fundamental importance in view of the scenario of an aging population and the increase in the number of cancer cases in Brazil and worldwide.
All activities involve monitoring the practical work, on a daily basis, of the members of the team of the Scientific Technical Center for Palliative Care of HCFMUSP (NTCCP-HCFMUSP) in the different scenarios that make up the patient and family care network. At the end of the Immersion, the professional will be able to make a difference in Palliative Care, in a safe, humanized way and based on the best scientific evidence.
