Nutrition is a specialty not yet included in the undergraduate medical school curriculum. As a result, there is a shortage of specialized professionals or those with expertise in the field. Since ANVISA Ordinance 272/98, with the creation of the EMTN (Multidisciplinary Nutritional Therapy Team), the physician has become part of the nutritional assessment and support care team.
There are more than 2,880 hours of courses, with classes at the Central Institute of the Hospital das Clínicas of USP and practice supervised by leading experts in the field.
