Nutriology is a specialty that is not yet included in the undergraduate medical school curriculum. As a result, there is a shortage of professionals who are specialized or have knowledge in the area. Since ANVISA ordinance 272/98, with the creation of the EMTN – Multidisciplinary Nutritional Therapy Team, the doctor is part of the team providing nutritional support and assessment care.
