The Multiprofessional Specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry - Training in Mental Health prepares professionals to work in the care of children and adolescents with psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders, from an integrated perspective encompassing clinical practice, development, language, learning, and family, school, and social contexts.
The course, lasting 12 months and comprising 570 hours, combines 180 hours of theoretical training, 300 hours of supervised internship, and 90 hours dedicated to the Final Course Project. Practical activities are developed at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service (SEPIA) of the Institute of Psychiatry at HCFMUSP, encompassing outpatient clinic, children's day hospital, and children's psychiatry ward.
The pedagogical proposal stems from the understanding that child and adolescent mental health requires responses that consider the particularities of this population, the comprehensive care of the individual and their family, and the articulation between health, education, social assistance, and other sectors of the care network.
