The Critical Trauma Maneuvers (MCT) course was developed to fill an essential gap in the training of surgeons who work in the care of Trauma. Unlike theoretical or simulation-based courses, the MCT provides students with practical and realistic experience, allowing them to master the main emergency surgical maneuvers in a controlled environment supervised by specialists working on the front line of

• 100% Hands-On — The course is entirely practical, with an exclusive focus on the direct execution of the maneuvers by the student.
• Ex Vivo Models — The main surgical approaches are performed on fresh cadavers, faithfully preserving the anatomy, dissection planes, and texture of human tissues.
• Swine model with general anesthesia — In the afternoon, students face the challenge of performing critical maneuvers on living models, simulating situations of trauma in real time, hemodynamic instability and the need for quick decisions.
• Realistic scenarios based on CRM (Crisis Resource Management) — In addition to the technique, the course emphasizes crisis management, teamwork, decision-making under pressure, and the efficient use of resources available in the emergency environment.
• Excellent infrastructure — The course is held at the Human Anatomy and Topography Laboratory of the USP School of Medicine (FMUSP), with high-fidelity practice stations and close monitoring by experienced surgeons from the HCFMUSP Trauma Center.
