Understand what happens to your joints and bones and learn how to take care of them at all stages of life.
Knee pain when climbing stairs, stiff hands in the morning, fear of fractures as the years go by... Many people call all this "rheumatism" and believe it is just a natural part of aging. But is it really?
In this course, specialists from the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine of USP explain, in a clear and uncomplicated way, the main diseases that affect joints and bones, such as osteoarthritis, arthritis, and osteoporosis. You will understand the difference between wear and inflammation, discover why osteoporosis is called a "silent disease," and know the true role of calcium, vitamin D, and physical activity in the health of your bones.
The course also looks at both ends of life: it shows the signs of rheumatic diseases in children that parents and grandparents need to know how to recognize and brings practical guidelines for aging with more autonomy, disposition, and quality of life.
