Prevention of Healthcare-Associated Infection

Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) are acquired during patient care in health care settings and represent a serious public health problem. They are currently among the most common adverse events in hospitals.

The implementation of preventive measures can prevent a large part of these infections, resulting in improved quality of care, reduced morbidity and mortality and reduced direct costs.

To successfully implement these measures, the first step is to ensure education and training for all healthcare professionals. This course was created with this in mind.

Classes are led by professionals from the Hospital Infection Control Commission (CCIH) at Hospital das Clínicas, one of the most important reference centers in the country.
