Improvement in Flow Cytometry

The Advanced Course in Flow Cytometry aims to provide theoretical and practical foundations in Immunophenotyping by Flow Cytometry applied to Oncohematological diagnosis, to professionals with training in Hematology and Clinical Pathology or Immunology and familiar with basic laboratory routines.

Among the topics covered in the course are:

• Immunophenotyping by flow cytometry: methodological principles
• Ontogenesis of B and T lymphocytes
• Myeloid Ontogenesis
• Cellular Composition of Normal Bone Marrow
• Blood lymphocyte reference values
• CD4/CD8 Qualification
• Immunological classification of acute leukemias
• Immunological Classification of Non-Hodgkin Lymphomas (NHL)
• Acute Leukemias (AML, ALL, Bilineage Leukemia)
• Chronic B lymphoproliferative diseases that usually present with a leukemic phase: lymphocytic lymphoma, lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma, mantle zone lymphoma, large cell NHL and follicular lymphoma
• Chronic leukemias: chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), chronic lymphocytic leukemia/prolymphocytic leukemia, prolymphocytic leukemia (PLL) and hairy cell leukemia (HCL)
• Most frequent chronic T lymphoproliferative diseases in our service: mycosis fungoides/Sezary syndrome and adult T cell lymphoma/leukemia
