The Specialization in Phytotherapeutics and Medicinal Plants course respects the traditional use of phytotherapeutics and medicinal plants, national legislation and regulations established by ANVISA, and the recognition of international and Brazilian Pharmacopoeias as fundamental documents in the study of the subject. The scientific basis and multidisciplinary approach of the class enrich the practical sessions, clinical case discussions, and ensure safe prescribing.

All content presents a basis for the rational use of phytotherapy and medicinal plants, ranging from basic knowledge of the mechanisms of action to drug interactions and the initial concepts of pharmacovigilance associated with phytotherapeutics and natural products.

During the journey, you'll also have the opportunity to work on the cultivation and agroecological practices involving medicinal plants, all guided by leading experts from the University of São Paulo's Hospital das Clínicas.
