Specialization in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases
The Inflammatory Bowel Diseases specialization program aims to train gastroenterologists and colorectal surgeons in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of complications associated with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). The program offers highly qualified faculty, unique practical experience, and a diploma from the Hospital das Clínicas da USP (HCFMUSP).
IBD affects more than 5 million people worldwide, according to estimates from the Brazilian Society of Coloproctology (SBCP). In Brazil alone, IBD cases increased by an average of 15% between 2012 and 2020. This scenario highlights the importance of training physicians specializing in the subject in the country.
The course features over 1,326 hours of excellent content, taught by leading HC professionals. Students also have the opportunity to learn hands-on in the hospital's specialized IBD outpatient clinics in Gastroenterology and Coloproctology.
