Specialization in Physiotherapy in Pelvic Health
The Pelvic Physiotherapy Specialization focuses on the conservative treatment of various pelvic dysfunctions, effectively addressing symptoms such as urinary and fecal incontinence, constipation, bedwetting, pelvic pain, and sexual dysfunction. Furthermore, the course will positively impact the quality of life and functionality of women, men, children, and the LGBTQIAPN+ community affected by urinary, gynecological, sexual, and gastrointestinal dysfunctions.
Pelvic health is a relatively new area of expertise in physical therapy, with an increasingly broad scope of work. Physical therapists play an active role within the multidisciplinary team, whether in outpatient settings, offices, clinics, or inpatient units, and address different levels of healthcare and their respective complexities.
The Pelvic Physiotherapy postgraduate program includes practical experience with HCFMUSP patients. All this takes a functional and individualized approach, enabling the physiotherapist to address various pelvic dysfunctions that can impact an individual's quality of life.
