The Emergency Medicine course was developed by the Clinical Emergencies Discipline of the FMUSP with a focus on preparing emergency workers for safer work in the Emergency Department. It is the most traditional training in the country, with more than 50,000 students graduated.

There are many reasons that bring a patient to an emergency room. Medical emergencies are the most diverse and can occur in common or rare forms. For this reason, emergency responders have the challenge of rapid diagnosis, needing to know which examination is really essential, in addition to predicting the potential complications of each case and acting on time and as a team.
