The Robotic Surgery Certification process is a stage of the course promoted by the Teaching, Research and Innovation Laboratory in Surgery of the Central Institute of the Hospital das Clínicas (LEPIC) in compliance with the regulation of the Federal Council of Medicine (CFM), resolution 2,311, considering robotics a new medical procedure in Brazil, through minimally invasive, open or combined means, classified as highly complex.
After completing mandatory online training, the student will complete 20 hours of robotic simulator training in parallel and will also observe surgeries performed at the São Paulo State Cancer Institute (ICESP) and the ICHC FMUSP Central Institute.
At the end of the course, the surgeon will receive a certificate in robotic surgery from LEPIC, recognized by the CBCD (Brazilian College of Digestive Surgery).
