Bootcamp in Bariatric Surgery and Upper GI
“Bootcamp” in Bariatric Surgery and Upper GI is an update course aimed at improving surgeons who work in bariatric surgery and upper gastrointestinal diseases, with an integrated approach between theoretical knowledge, case discussion, and practical experience.
Throughout the course, participants will have contact with complex cases, including revisional surgeries in bariatric surgery and reflux treatment, as well as cases of giant hiatal hernias. The program includes theoretical classes with HCFMUSP surgeons, clinical and didactic meetings, patient monitoring in wards and outpatient clinics, observation of procedures in the Surgical Center, and practical activities in the laboratory.
Among the main differentials are the joint approach of bariatric surgery and Upper GI surgery, the monitoring and discussion of complex cases, and the realization of practical activities in the laboratory, including models for training related to reflux and achalasia. The course also includes a research project workshop, expanding the formative experience beyond surgical practice
